Welcome to Brushy Creek!

Brushy Creek (Collin County, TX).

Brushy Creek, once known as Hell Creek, rises three miles northeast of Farmersville, TX in east central Collin County. It received its name from a group of surveyors who lost their way while searching for possible routes for a road from Dallas to the Red River. The stream flows southeast for 18½ miles, through a slightly rolling area surfaced with loamy and clay soils that support mesquite, grasses, and cacti. Brushy Creek is intermittent in its upper reaches. In areas where development has occurred, native vegetation has been replaced by cultivated row or cover crops. Brushy Creek passes within a mile of Josephine, TX and under the tracks of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway before emptying into the Caddo Fork of the Sabine River, four miles southwest of Silva in Hunt County.

The name has always intrigued me. I think it would be a perfect name for a Texas-produced liquor brand, and thus the name has been copyrighted for the purpose.
